Accessing Fermilab domain restricted resources from off-site

Last 5 years of Elsevier journals online (8/5/09)

Fermilab has site-wide online access to hundreds of physics journals for the rest of this year. Our access is limited to articles not more than five years old. This is a trial given us by Elsevier Publishers. The trial includes the journal titles followed by green icons on this Science Direct list.

We will receive usage statistics at the end of the trial, to help us determine what sort of online access package would best meet your needs. We welcome your thoughts on this.

New online engineering standards (6/3/09)

ANSI/ISA 84.00.2004 Functional Safety: Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry Sector http://subscriptions.techstreet.com/users/anonymous/398 We plan to add other online engineering standards to this subscription, so please let us know what additional standards you need.

New Online Boiler Code subscription (5/14/09)

We have a new vendor, TechStreet, for our online Boiler Code subscription. We have full-text online access to 4 sections of the Boiler Code: II (Parts A-D),V,VIII (Div. 1-3), IX, and 3 process piping standards: ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.9. Please e-mail the library library@fnal.gov to set up your individual log-in information. Instead of logging in, you have the option of using the subscription as an anonymous user at this URL: http://subscriptions.techstreet.com/users/anonymous/398 As an anonymous user, you will have less functionality.

Reviews of Accelerator Science and Technology (RAST) (3/4/09)

This new journal aims to provide readers with a comprehensive review of the driving and fascinating field of accelerator science and technology. It will document the tremendous progress made in the past decades and describe the bright future. RAST will cover a variety of topics, including linear and circular accelerators, high beam power accelerators, high brightness accelerators, synchrotron light sources, free electron lasers, medical accelerators, accelerators for industrial applications, advanced accelerator technologies as well as promising new breakthroughs (such as laser, plasma, wakefield acceleration, and beam physics).

The Compendex Day-Pass(2/13/09)

Coming soon...

Free trial of Compendex (9/12/08) Compendex is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of scientific and technical engineering research available, covering all engineering disciplines. It includes millions of bibliographic citations and abstracts from thousands of engineering journals and conference proceedings.

Looking for a PAC conference paper? (5/1/08) The fastest way to find an accelerator conference paper is at the JACoW website http://jacow.org which holds full-text to the complete set abck to 1965 for PAC and many other accelerator conferences.

6/17/08: DOE Data Explorer The DOE Data Explorer, a new resource for discovering DOE?s scientific research data wherever they reside, was recently unveiled by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI). The DOE Data Explorer was developed as a way to guide users to scientific research data - such as computer simulations, numeric data files, figures and plots, interactive maps, multimedia, and scientific images ? generated in the course of DOE-sponsored research in various science disciplines.

Fermilab authors with questions about their papers, please send email to techpubs@fnal.gov

Welcome to the Fermilab Library. We provide access to technical and scientific information to support research at Fermilab. Most of our online databases are available from Fermilab computers anywhere onsite at Fermilab. The Library is open to the public only by appointment. The Library does not loan books to the public, but members of the public may request items of interest through an interlibrary loan from their local library.
